Experience the charm of a by-gone era in Maryborough, Queensland. Settled in 1847, Maryborough is one of Queensland's oldest provincial cities. It is located three hours north of Brisbane with a population of 26,000.

Today, Maryborough is widely recognised for the abundant examples of colonial and Queenslander architecture, majestic public buildings and beautiful gardens. Much of the city's character has been preserved in these classic buildings. These interesting attractions are packed into this tour.

Monday: Arrive by Tilt Train or bus and meet your tour leader and 'Mary Heritage', the town's ambassador in period costume, at the station. You will begin your tour by going to the Wookkoo Story Walk in an air-conditioned coach and walking through the sculptures, water feature and unique artworks. Then on to the Arkana Motel where you will be staying in air-conditioned luxuriously furnished rooms.Enjoy a welcome drink in the bar and dinner in the licensed restaurant.

Tuesday: After breakfast, participate in a guided walking tour with 'Mary Heritage'of the Maryborough City Centre. Enjoy morning tea at Mary Delicious - an old time lolly shop. Visit the Wharf Street Heritage Precinct which includes the local art gallery, Customs House Museum, Bond Store Museum and the Maryborough Military Museum.

Enjoy free time over lunch in the heart of Maryborough. After lunch take a guided bus tour of the city, finishing with afternoon tea and a tour of 'Mavisbank', a colonial home. Return to the Arkana Motel to enjoy a wine tasting before dinner in the restaurant.

Wednesday: After breakfast take a guided bus tour of Hervey Bay and surrounding areas. Take a walk through the Arkarra Tea Gardens finishing with morning tea in one of the bures. Visit such places as Visit the Marina and enjoy lunch at the Hervey Bay Boat Club. Visit Brooklyn House, a beautifully restored 1890's Queenslander in Howard for a tour and afternoon tea. Return to the Arkana Motel for dinner.

Thursday: After breakfast visit the Maryborough Heritage Markets. Take a trip on the 'Mary Ann' steam train through Queens Park and then board 'The Mary' and enjoy a River Cruise down the Mary River with morning tea. Enjoy free time over lunch in the heart of Maryborough. Visit Brennan & Geraghty's Store Museum and a local antique shop. Tour Rosehill on the River, Maryborough's oldest home, partaking in a wine and cheese tasting.

Friday: Visit Backstage at The Brolga Theatre, then we take you to the train or bus station for your return trip home.
